im trying to make a town sized game, ive got cartography shop 4 (i find it difficult to use), is this a capable program for doing that or is 3d world studio better suited?

well im still a newb and im using 3D world studio and i find it amazing im just making a hut and trying it all out but ive never tried cartography but i know 3DWS is amazing and easy to use also has its own light source which is pretty sweet

3dws is just an updated version of cartshop and works pretty much in the same way. And yes they are both capable of making houses and such. You really would'nt want to try and create an entire town unless it was a really small town. make houses or buildings and such then just load them individually into whatever programing language and create your town from there.

@ tatts ur right about making a whole town would be canny mad its annoying just making 2 normal size houses takes a fair bit of time to get perfect unless some of the houses was like GTA vice city where alot of the houses was just boxes with templates on haha XD but i find 3DWS really easy and amazing

T.ed is just for Terrain generation mate, not level design. I say look at some tutorials and play around with Cart shop until you get used to it
