Damn, I'm getting some serious Deja Vu here again, everything for the last 5 minutes has been like I've already done it, right down to what I'm thinking. It always seams to pick up a bit in the fall, I wonder why?

Déjà-vu is something common, don't be afraid. there are some parts of your brain responsible for memories, and others for what you sense. With a lil exageration, a déjà-vu happens, when they interract in a specific way. (the full version is much too complicated, and I can't translated it fully in english)
So, there is nothing to be surprised.

(it is even possible for surgeons to increase the number of déjà-vus)

no, just some special chemical, electrical and bio-chemical reactions.

It's not that it worries me, it's just anyoing. When you get it every other day it really kills your motivation. That and the few times were it's been over something important and you don't understand it till the event's past really leaves you pissed off.

But all you feel, smell, see, etc... is only a result of those bio-chemical reactions.

Deja Vu only occurs when you're tired as well. Arrow, I'd suggest you're either experiencing all this deja vu late a night as you're getting tired, or you're just generally having sleeping problems and you're not getting as refreshed as you should be.

If people honestly ask themselves, 99% of the time when they get deja vu, or think they've had a ghostly experience, or think they see something etc. it's early in the morning, or late at night when they're really tired. That's when your mind plays tricks on you the most, cos it's all trying to work while your system is trying to shut it down.

I think I heard deja vu, in particular, is where the short term memory and long term memory clash. Very computery explination, but it still makes sense. When you're tired, and the info moves from your short term memory into your long term memory, with the sluggish nature of being tired, it can be perceived as momentarily being in both short and long term memories. You then think what you've seen from the short term memory is something you've seen before (from the long term memory). It's all speculation though - nobody really knows for sure, but that's one theory I think makes sense.

So Arrow, sleep more.

Though I work nights, I get at least 8 hours of sleep a night [edit] day.

While on topic I think I get the exact opposite of Deja Vu, I forget things before I think them up. No I'm not joking, ever been thinking of something then someone asks you something and you foget what you were thinking about? I get that but I'm fully aware of what I was thinking. Ussally when I get this, it seams to be a very uplifting, found the meaning of existance type of thought, but I can never remember it. I think I'm pretty screwwed up.

Not a big fan of drinking (though I do like plum saki), or should I say being drunk. I always fear I'll do some horrable thing while recording myself and forget about it untill I'm looking for that TV show I taped (I never labled) that a friend wants to barrow. Besides for the most part I can have just a good time with out alcahol.

Ahh, you need to get experience to beat those problems. When growing up, getting old enough to drink legally, you learn many key skills. After many friday nights coming home pissed as a fart and not wanting to look too wasted to the old parents, you soon learn to act pretty sober while barely being able to retain control of your bladder.

This could turn into a debate about drinking but people shouldn't dismiss alcohol as a "It's sad people have to drink to have fun" drink. Yes, it's good to be able to have fun without alcohol, but it's all about inhibitions. Inhibitions make life boring, and although being a fun person means you're able to shrug off most of those inhibitions and have fun, alcohol lets you shrug off a hell of a lot more. It gives you dutch courage with the ladies - it lets you tell jokes you wouldn't normally tell, and it makes jokes that are normally pretty average seem farkin funny! hehe. I too think its sad when people think drinking is the only thing they can do on a friday/saturday night for fun, but don't dismiss the booze!!! There's a reason why so many people drink, and there's a reason why the nights with drinking always throw up more stories and more laughs - cos without the inhibitions, people are generally a lot more fun. ...... especially quiet people who are normally reclusive ... gets them chatting and gets the night swinging for them too.

*Raises a glass to booze!*

Am I the only person who never gets Deja Vu?
Can't say I have ever experianced it. Perhaps it's something to do with my ever worsening short term memory. I just can't remeber people names anymore only faces unless I have known them a long time or their name was used a lot.

Being really tired messes with your brain. When I was little I used to like haveing to get up really early and go on car journeys. The combination of being in a car and tired would create some odd dreams and because you are slightly awake you get to remeber them as well.

eh if your having deja vu so frequently to the point where it annoys you you should probably consult a physician... however they may mean nothing i dunno, im not a doctor... so don't let me worry you either.. just ask a doctor about it...it won't hurt^_^

Quote: "Aura.

Some people who have partial seizures experience unusual sensations that warn them that they are about to have a seizure. This premonitory state is called aura.

Auras take several different forms:

Sometimes it is perceived as a sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach or a sense of "deja vu" (already seen).

Sometimes it takes the form of an auditory hallucination, like an advertising jingle.

A person experiencing an aura is having a simple partial seizure without losing consciousness."

Yeah things like pain that the fact the girl you're drooling over is really a guy. I'm pretty easy going, I ussally don't need booze to be outgoing, I'm a pretty free spirted guy. Not saying it's all bad, drinks with friends is fun, esspecially if you got a decent racing game, lol.

You mean a shrink, sorry had bad experances with them since I was 10. I've been lable around 7 different types of crazy, some are counterdicting. I esspecailly don't trust the pill-popers who think they got the cure to your problem in a pill. Most haven't a clue as to what they're talking about, like I'm going go make it worse by saying, "Hey doc, I get Deja Vu ever other day, It's really starting to bug me, and oh yeah, I forget thing before I think of them." I prefer my walls unpaded, thank you very much.
