Since I have to work with (/&%$ยง"! Vista on my new PC, ddsconverter doesnt work anymore.

I found this alternative: http://www.brothersoft.com/dxtbmp-71327.html which works surprisingly good.

You cant convert batch files and you cant convert to .jpg but personally I preferred .tga anyway. Whats more you can have a fullscreen window and check the textures in 100% or more resolution instead of that tiny image from dds.converter. AND it has some easy usable functions for alpha channels.

I have worked for some hours with it now and so far I can only recommend this one.

- ddsconverter doesnt work under vista
- all FPSC menues and huds look pixelish no matter what resolution
- shaders on dynamic objects dont work properly

...and these are only the problems regarding FPSC

Norton is flagging that site as unsafe, due to computer threats and indentity threats.

I'd be very cautious, if you feel compelled to DL from that site.

Kaspersky didnt mind the download it just killed lots of cookie requestions as it alwys does but you can find dozens of other sites for a download of the programm wich is nowhere flagged as a threat itself (and my Kaspersky didnt find anything fishy about it too).

And I didnt upgrade from XP, I simply bought a new PC some weeks ago
