As Mike has confirmed that he will be coming, the conference room has been reserved. On my web site (in the Convention option) is the proposed layout, and various other bits and pieces you will need to know/be aware of - including (but not reserved to) buying buffet meals at The Ship hotel.

I would ask that everyone who will be coming e-mail me, with the subject of "DBPro Convention".

This is so that I know the exact number of people coming.

If you are coming, now would be a good idea to start ringing around for hotels and/or B&B's (of course, you dont have to stay in Chichester - but it makes it simpler for you if you do).

Food, lodgings and any other expense comes out of your own pocket...

In addition, bring laptops, handhelds, cameras etc at your own risk.

The computers there will be networked (but no internet access).

Nice thought, but as it was mentioned in the last thread, chichester is out of the way. Maybe there'll be another one a bit more accessible some time

hmm this sounds good.. i might go actually.

"around £200 for two days (food is extra). This means that if 10 people come, it'll be around £20 per person"

so the more people come the cheaper it will be?

how many people are coming so far

By the way, if you want to let me know if your want to buy any of the buffet meals (as detailed on my web site), that would be handy.

In addition, if you've got anything to show off - let me know and I'll see if I can demo them.

Nearly sorted it out but totally forgot...
It's my father's birthday (66) on the 2nd and there'll be a little festivity on the 4th. So- I can't come.

I awoke in a fever. The bedclothes were all soaked in sweat.

The provisional statuses are now not provisional - I'll be showcasing various programs in this time slot.

The layout is now fixed and will only change if something needs to be added.

For those who would like to come, but haven't e-mailed me yet, can you do so by September 30th (3 weeks away) - any requests after this date will be ignored, refused or just laughed at, unless you've got a very good reason why it took so long for you to decide (bribes help too).

There was an idle post about an American one a while ago... Dont think anything came of it, and now that Guy has departed the land of DBPro, I dont think anything will be happening soon.

Wahhh! This is one of the (very) few times that i wish i lived in England. But then again, in two weeks time i'm going to the Ningaloo reef for two weeks of snorkelling and fun. And at night time i'll be doing my compo entry.

Hey, Indi, why don't we do an Aussie DBPro convention How many people would that be... Like four!

I can't do that.

@TCA

Your Coding Challenge page states, obviously, that no pre-made code can be brought along. Can we bring our own media along though?

Also, will it be possible for me to plug in my laptop for my talk? (It has a VGA out port) - Will I need to bring any cables for this?

Bring some cables just in case my LCD projector doesn't have the right ones.

Yes, you can bring your own tasteful media.

@Toady

A good idea, my output is just like the standard VGA output slot on the back of any PC case so I should be OK

Any idea how many people are coming exactly?
