I had a signature which was less than 200 chars (199) according to MS Word. However I couldn't add it as it was "more than 200 characters".

Plus, it seems the forum also counts spaces. Is it possible to increase the allowance, or remove detection of spaces, or allow me to have a sig 199 chars long?

please

Yes of course it counts spaces. Spaces are characters are they not?

I have no intention of increasing this limit. Make your signature smaller.

Cheers,

Rich

Now how about limiting sig pic, I think 500x100 is more than fair.

Yeah I'm tempted to do this, except everyones pics are various sizes. So I either fix a set size for all sig pics (and anything else gets distorted) or just ban people who use stupidly large sig pics from setting a signature (which can be done easily).

Cheers,

Rich

OK but it's hard if you have a sig that fits into 200 chars that isn't allowed.

I was just trying my luck if it could be increased slightly, but it was annoying that my sig 199 chars in length wasn't allowed. That's why the 3rd line is so short and compacted (I jhad to remove all full stops etc). And that was the main reason for posting.

It's certainly frustrating when you get a great sig that's 3 lines but is 213 chars

Question: Do you need three sigs to be shown at once? Why not alternate them once a week or something?

I know, but it's just not worth the hassle of me changing the code, changing the language files, uploading it, etc, sorry

because they're all so good and relatively short.

This is off topic, but rich, can we stil use T3DGM models in the new compo? We could in the last one. And can we use media included with DBP?

phew! Thanks.

p.s. Bit of shameless self-promotion here but can you have alook at my ocmpo entry in the beta forum and let me know what you think? I know you "did the rounds" with the last compo commenting on each?

p.p.s word tells me this...
Quote: "Theres no place like 127.0.0.1

Bus station = where bus stops Train station = where train stops. Workstation = ?"

...is 197 chars inc spaces. I can't seem to change my sig as it has too many chars. Can anybody else do a word count to check?

It's from an issue of Sci-fi magazine, they had a round-up of the worst ever sci-fi books and choice quotes from them. That was one of them and I loved it
