Well , After making FPS Creator x10 with this amazing effects , etc. , When do you think all of The FPSC game makers would stop using x9 , and move to x10 ?
And when do you expect FPSC x11 to appear ?
And what things you would to be added , fixed on x11 ?
Please post your own view .

People aren't going to stop using X9 for a very long time. I can't say how many years, nor can anyone else, but seeing as the migration will be coming (hopefully in a somewhat near future) people will be using it for quite some time.

Three problems with it: 1, it can't handle physics or my guns turn white. 2, the syncrate is too low meaning that i t runs at a high framerate but looks laggy. 3, the lighting sucks. Until TGC fixes this, it will suck.

in my opinion my experience with x10 was not very good. there were a lot of errors and most features did not work properly.

and its not my computer. i have a brand new computer that can run fpscx10 easily on the highest settings.

I refuse to use X10 due to the closed source and unusual licensing they have for it.

I am quite fond of fixing things myself, or adding features, which I can't do if the source is closed off. I'm not likely to sell a game I make with it, so the licensing is more of a nit-pick.

Good vantage points , Everyone !
Well , due to your posts , looks that x10 is not so great.
Also I thought FPSC x9 wouldn't be used in the near future , But i suppose I changed my idea about it .

I didn't know about that , I'm not a DBPro user , but that's really suck because it means you can't modify in it , or add any new featuers or script commands .
But there's one thing nobody speaked about :

I'm really happy of your responding , Guys !

The future of FPSC being developed past Direct X 10 is bleak. I cant see TGC developing a brand new DarkBasic Pro AND FPS Creator, after the not-so-great success of X10.

What's the point in making a game, when there are not many X10 PC users? (Note how many, many people STILL refuse to use Vista, which is required to run X10)

If Windows 7 is an instant hit, and everyone starts to buy FPSC X10 to go with it, that's when TGC will pay more attention to it.

Its a good day to do what has to be done by me and help my brother to defeat the enemies

I think X10 was built on the hopes and dreams promised by Vista and DirectX10, which everone knows just didn't pan out, and widely considered a huge failure by Microsoft. With directx 11 just around the corner, the whole X10 moniker seems kinda moot.

More than likely the future of FPSC won't include a distinction between X9 and X10. I see them merging at some point. I have no insider information, just speculating.

No one can say for sure. Direct x11 hasn't even been released yet. Lee (from what I've heard) hasn't mentioned anything about creating x11 so it could be a few years to possibly never.

I have gotten burnt by MS more than once and personally as well; I bet Lee feels the same way. I don't think there are a lot of people going to get on board with X11 until it proves itself.

Why not , Aaagreen , bond1 ?
At least they'll try to fix the bugs on x10 , and add more featuers.
I agree that many people refuse to use vista , but Microsoft is working to fix it , and they have realesed Windows 7 which have many fixed bugs and problems from Windows vista .

I know , but what I ment with my question is to know what things that FPSC users would like to be added in the future .
Well , I would like an options system , to change controls , audio and video settings , And adding vechils the player can go in ( I know that was done by Ply's mod , I'm talking about stock engine )
, planes to fight with , real sky , real bullets to be fires by enemies , bullet holes on the enemy's body , different death animation debends on the place of the last hit , etc.
What would you like ?

True, but the damage is irreparably done. Vista and directx 10 have a huge stigma associated with them. And having a piece of software specifically designated with the "X10" suffix will be even less relevant after Windows 7 and dx11 is released.

That's why I see them merging the two products at some point, dropping the whole "X10" designation and just using whatever version of directx is available on the users machine - 9,10, or 11.

I personally enjoy using vista, yet x10 was a huge let down for me, even when i specced out my computer, i think i used it for 20 minutes and i hated it.

FPSC X10 v109 is considerably better than FPSC X9 v115.

FPSC X9 is more appealing due to its mod potential but TGC are planning to make FPSC X10 open source once DBPro X10 is released.

Bond1 is correct saying ultimately there will be no X9 / X10 distinction following the migration. It will be the same product but X10 users will benefit from X10 only features.

As far as I'm concerned I don't care what operating system or version of directx I'm using, I just want the best possible version of FPSC.

The future of FPSC is X10. TGC probably made a mistake advertising the product as Vista / X10 only but they will rectify that once the migration is complete. Then the user will be rewarded for having the extra hardware rather than being restricted by it.

Incidentally you can quite happily port maps between X9 and X10 at the moment. The migration version will just allow you to compile X9 and X10 in the same editor.

Things I want to see before I'll believe FPSC has a chance of making a competable title:

- Unified Lighting System
- LUA scripting instead of FPI (Or perhaps a merge of the two, simply making the FPI commands functions for LUA)
- A massive upgrade on menu setup, including: Options Screen, Map Selection (for MP), Client-Server style MP instead of Client-Host
- AI upgrade. (And no, DarkAI is not enough. You should know that by now) And while you're at it, why not eliminate the character entities' need for a floor and have their movement strictly physics based? I want to see an army of guys running over a hill at me... and not down a hallway, like it has always been for FPSC.
- A better Editor for the world. Cell-based maps are too old-school now.

'nuff said.

Really? Let's look at my specs...

HD4870, AMD Phenom 9550 quad core, 4gb DDR2 RAM, 500gb HDD...

And yeah, Ply, you hit the nail right on the head.

If all that were included in the migration, that would be great. I doubt some of it will be though, but we can hope.

I won't argue which is better, but I can tell you that I bought X10 as soon as it was available and I hardly use it. If I didn't have X9 I guess I would, but I just enjoy using X9 more.
