Hello,

DEMO IN NEWEST POST

Decided to make a small game in under 24 hours. Spent roughly 2 and a half hours on it tonight. It's a modest first person shooter in the style of Nazi Zombies, based on an animated show I am making.

Features FPS style controls, sliding collision, a maximum of 50 Terrorist Arrows on screen and AI. Other mechanics to be built shortly and a video series on the making of is coming in the next few days, too.

Looking forward to seeing it Drew. Loved your last arrow minigame, and your video logs.

Aw sweet. Are you going to package all the games together when you sell the show, release them for free, or what?

Will be watching this as well.

Alpha demo
http://www.experteva.co.uk/alpha1.zip

One room available, two weapons. Barriers can be rebuilt using SPACEBAR, arrow keys to move, mouse to shoot. 1 and 2 change weapons.

If an arrow touches you, the program ends. Get as high a level as you can. I got to level 54

Needs a lot of graphics work, more weapons and more rooms to open up. Please give me your thoughts so far as I want to make this an enjoyable game to play.

Wow, it's great! I really like the atmosphere created by the humming arrows. Like annoying(but deadly) mosquitoes.
The mix of 2d and 3d graphics is really nice! My only complaint is the controls which were kinda weird, but I know you're going to
fix that, so I'm not sure why I'm writing this?
Great game, please finish it!

zzz, forgive my ignorance as I must confess I've only played one FPS on PC ever: what would be good controls / changes to them?

well your mouse look is fine but you would want to use WASD instead of the arrow keys for movement.
EDIT: forgot to say, the projects looking great! well done on this, are you gonna release the last Terrorist Arrow game sometime as well?

Working on this again tonight...

Decided I will be working with shaders + depth of field and stuff. Try and make this really next gen as all my creations so far in Dark Basic have been distinctly Playstation One!

What is going to happen with this game

I'm restarting my games development "company", and this game may either be release for free or as a special feature with Milk Paton. It depends what comes of Milk Paton. I plan on doing a small game every 2 or 3 months, and I'll probably be moving to PlayBasic in the near future as cross-platform games are where the money is. My next project is probably going to be a sequel to Dumbow & Cool.

Do you mean Purebasic? I mean, Playbasic is nice, but I don't think it is cross platform.

I'm not a real programmer but I play one with DBPro!

New video with me explaining things, shows new weapons, areas, graphics.

Video is a top of page along with more info on the video series it's going to tie in with...

Project has taken WAY longer than I expected it too. Guess I'm a little rusty with the coding. I reckon it's probably three quarters done now. Need to get grenades going, a third area going and a start/end. After that it's all wee things. Another week till release maybe?

Yeah, and the intersect object command.

Would also like to say I sincerely think this game is 2 or 3 nights away from being finished. Just a bit of polish and bugfixing now...

Will it have an intro by the geometric storyteller like the last one did?

Looks like it will be fun! Any thoughts for the music and such?

Hi Bizar Guy,

It's going to be using some of the music from the show - so if you're wondering what the music is like from the show, now's your chance to find out!

But aren't we supposed to use our shoulders to stop them, or microwave them?

I at least think there should be a mobile phone super weapon.

Well this is obviously Nazi Zombie inspired, and that game has a bomb to clear the screen... so why not a cell phone bomb

Please head over to the DBP board and have a crack at solving my "Get matrix height" bug. It's got me, and this project beat!

Great work! I really like its retro style! And thank you for adding wasd-movement!
I noticed a bug with the glass windows however, I can't see the trees through them(see attached screenshot).
And what happened to the humming sound of the arrows?
Keep up the good work, Drew!

Wow, this game is incredibly good. I was instantly captivated by the atmosphere. No offense, but after reading the title, I thought a 'Terrorist Arrow' game would be really stupid. But everything was great! The gameplay was fun, the environment was perfect, the different guns added variety, and the arrow death animation was very satisfying.

Things it needs:
-Restart game button
-Reload gun button
-Arrows should make some kind of noise, it's no fun to get hit from behind without even knowing one got in
-There was a bug - some sort of flame/muzzle flash was stuck in the center of the map and never disappeared

Played it 3 times, and so far, level 8 is my best.

It was too easy, I got to level 18 before quitting!

It was well done though, definitely! I quite like the jerky reloads and stuff... reminds me of like DOOM or Dark Forces and other classic games!

Alpha 3 video. A few cosmetic and sound changes remain and the game is completed. I'm still considering the best way to release it. It needs to either generate some income or be used to promote the show it is based on... Got a few ideas.

I just downloaded and tried to play it, but it was really choppy. And my specs are pretty decent too.

I tried to watch the video, but it said it was removed by the user. Did you get rid of it? Anyway, looks nice.
