hello
this thread is here so that i can showcase what i have been recently working on.

i want to know what you think and to have you tell me what to do to improve these.

to start it off here is a lamp that i made yesterday, i focused on the model as apposed to the texture.

also the texture had the bulb as being slightly transparent but my rendering software (poser 7) doesn't support transparency in textures, unless you have seperate textures for one model which i don't like doing

Nice models. Just a suggestion: you could make multiple textures of the lamp to make it look like metal, different wood, and etc. Very niCE!

You need, amongst other things, look more into material definition. Because guns usually aren't made out of concrete, also remember that you can freely use triangles with your weapons, as you're wasting quite a bit of polygons with the way you're working now.

thanks guys, dj master I'll make one tonight and either have it up by tommorrow or by tonight, alucard94 thanks for the advice, the guns main texture is acctually metal, i guess it does kindof look like concrete, i may well redo it anyway, and yeh about the triangles i would have used them but its only about 20 extra polies for that particular model, but I'll remember that in future thanks

Looks awesome but you have too many faces on the round parts, with about half of that amount and some hard smoothing it would look as good as this.

Your models are great Mazz! No offense, but is wood and stone textures the only ones you know how to make? It seems everything has the same wood and stone on it whether it matches the model or not. So I suggest practicing with other textures like metal (especially for guns). But, your models are great!

well i sort of aggree on some of the models, but as i said its partly down to the renderer which doesn't acctually manage to render the textures as well as i had hoped but, i will be getting z brush soon and will therefore be able to use that, but anyway here is a new one, i've tried to make the textures look less stoney and the reason i use that wood texture is because i prefer it to the others i have, but i'll try to use others... hope this is better and thanks for the feedback, tell me what you think
