Here I am,modelling my all time favourite car, which may be known from Dukes of Hazzard series/movie.So far its going pretty well, its my first high poly car,all my previous cars only had around 5k polys when finished, this one has already 857 polys.Any tips on improving the wire or smoothing tricks are welcome.

thats really good so far, are you using max? if so there is 2 good smoothing modifiers in there to smooth only sertin faces.just select the faces you whant to smooth then decide how much you want to smooth that erea.

Yes I use smoothing groups, for example the edges where the bonnet goes to side theres a small 0,08 chamfer and its own sharp smoothing group there so the edge stands out.

Looks like were already 2 charger fans, best car ever.Im aiming for a very detailed car so ill render it and make a nice big wallpaper when im done.913 polys at the moment and the area behind the bumper isnt done yet.If anyone knows how to fix the horrible smoothing on the left blinker let me know.I tried all smoothing groups.

I remember when I made that car. Looking back at that thread, I was really immature. Hmm.

Anyway!

Looks good so far. What modelling program are you using?

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problem just with potatoes.

Now, this is what Iwas talking about in your pistol thread. I'm liking it so far, but there are loads of unneeded polies on the sides. Try and fix that up.

Thanks all,I use 3dsmax and yes,I love Dukes of Hazzard so this car aint going nowhere without a confederate flag, orange paint and black pullbar in the front. And of course the American Racing Vector SE rims.

EDIT: Heres a new clay, wire comming later today when I finish the part behind the bumper.

You could always just screenshot the viewport. Far easier.

Can I ask where you got these pictures?? Cause I'm looking for good reference pictures that give above/side/front instead of just 1 or 2.

I found the whole blueprint on www.sm-cars.net but its way off and its too damn innacurate so you better find another blueprint.

Heres a very awesome render of the charger mirrored.Ive done the roof and the cool American Racing 47 Vector SE.

Maybe this one? That's the site I used back when I was making cars with Blender.

I love 3ds max clay renders, they make most models look great!
