Does look good, but you have the issue of the box looking like it just has had a bunch of random extrusions.

Looking good so far, the HP could use a bit more work. Would look good with some rectangle indents, circle as well. I created my cargo pod using various references where I was able to find interesting detail to incorporate into my model.

Pretty cool someone's making something of mine. Perhaps you should include my pod as a reference in your post?

Added you to msn.

EDIT:
IMHO, results turn out better when you make the high poly first. That way you are not limited to how much details the normal has on the low poly. You could have let me know you were going to make this. I hope your not going to be making a profit out of this model too.

the last sentence shows exactly who you are. btw its a cargo pod just because its based off of you doesn't mean you can screw him over by copyrighting it. if he used your exact model then yes i could see how you could do something about it. but seeing as he is remaking it there really isn't anything you can do. as it wouldn't be breaking ANY copyright you could put on YOUR media. this would be considered along the lines of fan made non profit.

i may have misunderstood what you meant. but either way i still find that last sentence to show exactly who you are.

Certainly not my intentions. I'm fine with him making it as fan art, just that he didn't exactly mention he was going to make it. If he were to make a profit then that would be a bit different.

I don't see how you can copyright a crate. Sure he took your design for inspiration, but the end result looks nothing like yours and...... its a crate.

By your logic Bungie could sue you for including crates in your game. And the images you used for research? I'm sure you've given them a cut of the money?

[EDIT] And he did give you credit in his first post [/EDIT]

I didn't copyright the cargo pod, the company I am producing it for would be the one constructing the terms for the cargo because it will be a registered game.

For the references, I didn't actually use them to copy, I made up my own original ideas by using inspiration and design from the refs. They look nothing alike in the end. If I did use something to copy, of course a lump sum would have been offered.

Anyway, I don't want to escalate this any further. You guys are misinterpreting what I am trying to say, or it's a bit difficult for me to explain.

Didn't ask this but where did you see my model Asteric?
