Thanks tatts, stones in the fire place take the most time, must be a quicker way than making each one, but I am trying not to just slap a texture on to a suface.

Plus anyone seen any tuts on how to do logs and flames?

Just make one copy it then edit the second then copy that and edit. make couple like this then copy and rotate them to give it a random look.

I havent seen any but, you could just use a couple cylinders along with a few planes for the fire. However I think it would be pretty cool to see it with using fire particles.

Well I though I'd lost this as windows decided to pull it plug and crash before I 'd saved it, However it was not to bad as I had saved it a few times so here a picture I have so far.

Look for something I could put on the walls? any ideas?
Plus flat ceiling or roof beams.

It might look a bit better to extrude/inwards (not sure what you would call that) the hole in the wall where the fireplace goes. Then you will be able to see all of that nice stonework that you put into the fireplace, and also would get rid of the ZDepth noise that you currently have.

I could use this in a game if you aren't using it for anything. I am making a Tarot Card reading game with a witch reading your Tarot Cards. She is in a small cottage with a fireplace just like this one.

It would be nice to have beams on the walls.

the z fight is to do with trying to add another texture when it had one, did not what to re do just yet.

I guess that this is a good reference picture, but diagonal is also very good.

Plus you don't have to re-do anything if you put a hole in the wall. All of your bricks will be uncovered.

wel I've change the floor to a simple texture as it was going nuts and use a light to see how it could look and put some beams in.

That lovey grey! is my bad choice of mortar to join the stones together, if you know a link to a better texture, could you post it please.

same for the walls.

Oh is that what it is? Well mortar doesn't go there, it goes between the stones. Is there no way that you can extrude the stones together. In Anim8or you have bridge to bridge faces together, or extrude if you have too many faces to join together. Or if you really want a quick fix, just paint the wall a dark colour, but do it in the shape of the bricks, not square. Lol.. the walls have a watermark.

I can make you a texture.. hold on.

Here are some wall textures, and I tried to make a fireplace one, but without the model I had to guess. So I posted the Photoshop file as well so that you can scale the fireplace mortar to fit the model.

Very nice! I think, being a witch's house, you need a few spooky paintings (very dilapidated, of course) to fill in the walls. And maybe an old rickety bookcase filled with ancient spellbooks.

Other than that, I would add a bit more grunge/dirt to some of the materials -- Looks a little too pristine for a witch's hovel.

strange you say that, as I have been looking for some pictures to do this, been looking for something like a grandmother witch and a headless horseman and anything else.

Book case hum!

think I'll have to make it away from the main seen as it now has 100 objects and is really slowing every thing down to a slow crawl.
