Update to FPS-Media: 10-Dec-09
Happy Holidays from FPS-Media.
With the holidays approaching fast, Cathy and I just wanted to drop a line to wish everyone Happy Holidays. It has been a great year for us and we've met some great friends. This month has been extremely busy with me having to be absent for two x two week sessions and Cathy stepping up to continue in my place. Almost looking forward to retirement down the road
Updates:
We have a couple of projects in development that we want to share. The first project is a manual for Beginners. We realize that there are some manuals already, such as the Official Community Guide, etc. However, this manual will be focused for the "first-time user" of FPSC. Cathy sat down and wrote out the core structure of the manual from a "first-time user" perspective. It will cover the basics and we have recorded some of the various "questions" we see on the forum to be covered in the manual. It is about 1/2 completed and we're hoping to have it ready by the end of this month.
The second project we are developing is a project called Mod-IT. This application will allow FPSC users to "swap" their mod with another for testing/building purposes. We have been in contact with Flatlander (RPG Mod), hockeykid (Fenix Mod), and s4real (Project Green) and all have given us the go-ahead to do this. The application will contain the mods and all the user has to do is click the mod button to "swap" it for them rather than manually having to copy the required files for that selected mod. In my absence, my wife Cathy managed to get the mods in place and has completed the code to swap from RPG to Fenix to Project Green to the default FPSC; no issues were reported and she did a great job. All I have to complete is the help file/manual and it should be ready to release. Of course, I could not have done it without Cathy's help, since my work sometimes takes me away at any time and away from home for any length of time.
Once completed, we will post here in our thread and have a few screenshots to view the application's interface. Until then, we wish everyone the best this holiday season.
Cheers
Mike
