Well, I actually managed to finish UV mapping this bugger(didnt help that TrueSpace decided to break a couple times). just thought I'd give you an update. Here's a tip I just learned: don't try to UV map something that is High poly and expect it to go quickly
. Though, I did decide to do a little vert cleanup(went from 20-something thousand to 14 thousand). But, it's still huge. guess this guy wont be used any time soon by me.
On to texturing, a more fun part for me
