I seem to be having problems with ExGen in Windows 7. When I open it, this small black window appears and then instantly disappears and the program will not load. If I (for some odd reason) try to take a screen shot of this, the program loads! But once I click anything, it crashes.

Has anyone gotten this program to work in Windows 7? It's a great program and I don't want to buy a new particle editor.

Does anybody know when microsoft will drop support for xp, and encourage Vista and Windows 7?

XP is not longer supported in 2014 so microsoft have what 5 years to fix windows 7.

PS if windows 7 fails you may want to start looking at google os or linix.

I'll add something later on.

Google OS is a Linux distro, and it's not out yet.

I know that they use a Linux base and thats its not out yet but if windows 7 is a fail there will be a need to look at these other OS as microsoft will not exist. Its a big if but its enough to look at before buying windows 7.

I'll add something later on.

Okay, seriously, you're posting the same thing in two different threads. Windows 7 is NOT another Vista and thus Microsoft will not meet its end. Everybody loves the Windows 7 RC (which is basically the final version with a set expiration date, sort of like a trial). If you don't believe me, Google is your friend.

yeah it doesnt look like its going to fail.

And surely microsoft would survive even if it did fail?

Xbox 360
ASP
Microsoft office...
Windows Mobile

Then again, i guess ASP and Office would fail without an os

Well, the windows office suite apparently works on the macintosh without anything such a Bootcamp or another type of Windows-App emulator.

I fail to see the answer, only a pointless argument. You were right though, it was "a bit" off topic.

Sorry sam my bad in helping the off top.

The windows 7 has the compatabity mode. However you may have to run as admin as well.

I'll add something later on.

This is probably obvious but make sure you have the latest version of DirectX 9.0c.

You might need XP or vista to run ExGen. I don't think ExGen works on Windows 7 OS.

If involves money I'm in. (only if it Benefits me)
