I made a game, and i would like to share it, but about 90% of the music in it is not by me or fpsc. Would it be safe to post it here? No, i'm not selling it, so i'm not making money off of other people's audio. I would also definately credit them in the description, but im not sure if i would get in trouble for putting it up here.

At night i lay awake on my bed, gazing up at the stars, and wonderi-hey, where'd the roof go?

Is it music/sound you copied from a web site? If so they should have copyright info somewhere on the site. Or is it music bytes you copied from recorded music you already have? I'm not sure about the legalities of that but I do know that a person was taken to task for having copyrighted music just playing in the background on YouTube and wasn't even the subject of the video (you could barely hear it!). It did play out in its entirety but I'm not sure about sound bytes unless they were purchased legally to begin with.

The music is mostly from ps2 games. (Rule Of Rose, Clock Tower 3, Fatal Frame 1 and 3). Would there be something in the copyright information on them that says whether or not i can use it's content for something, if i give them credit?

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

If it's mostly from PS2 games, then you'd have to get permission from the publisher/developer which would be extremely hard. If you just posted your game without permission, you probably wouldn't be very happy afterwards, if ya' know what I mean

I've seen it all. Except for myself ever not failing at something.

DANG, so i have to change all the music...

EDIT: Somebody i talked to said that as long as i'm not making any money off of it, and say that the ps2 games own the music, im fine. Are you sure i would get in trouble? I don't want to take any risks...

Unless everything is your own work or you have permission to use it then please don't post it here.

It's a myth.
