I don't listen to rock, but a video I watched had this song in it sounds all-to-familiar. The first one that came up was this: Hollywood Undead - Circles and the tune, again, sounds WAY to familiar, can anyone say what it sounds like or is from?

The song with the familiar tune.

It's a very general tune, so it isn't very odd if you've heard similar things.
I can't point anything out though.

I haven't listened to them in years, and I was never a huge Hollywood Undead fan, but they've changed a lot since I last heard them. I don't know about it being Muse's first big hit, though, because the first one I would think of as a big hit was Plug In Baby (that was the first one I think everyone you spoke to knew), but it definitely sounds very Muse-y. The chord progression sounds like a muse song, maybe New Born? I'm not sure - I'm not a huge fan of the band to be honest, but I'll have a look. Only album I have though I think is Absolution.

EDIT: Just looked up New Born - intro riff, second half - sounds a little like that, I would say.

Listening to Hollywood Undead now. They're actually rubbish. Sounds like they've been listening to Jonas Brothers. Charlie Scene sounds like he's trying to imitate Eminem at his worst. I'm not impressed. I swear there was a song back in the day that was alright though... Only stuff I can find at the moment is new stuff.

EDIT: Found that song - Scene For Dummies, not as bad but not great either really, can't remember why I used to like it...

This song is not new born by muse. It simply shares a slightly similar E minor chord arpeggio

Sounds a lot like the intro to The Day That Never Comes // Metallica to me. (at least the intro)

Doesn't sound like a muse song that I am familiar with. And I know quite a lot of muse songs. (all of them)
