I was thinking- perhaps a thread where people request a review/write a review to games made in FPSC?

it wouldn't just be like the thread for the game- like "good job" no, It'd be more like an OFFICIAL review thread.

any thoughts/is this a good idea?

Meh, although most WIP and Showcase threads are very crowded with 'good job's and 'keep up the good work's, they feature good enough information to form a sort of 'review'. I'd like to hear other people's comments on this as well.

I wouldn't say it's a bad idea, it's just not needed at all.

Signature's are stupid.

It's certainly not a bad idea. What would be better is a website dedicate to reviewing games done in FPSC (and / or modded), this way the review could really give a full review perhaps telling them exactly what the 'player' thought and where improvements could be made.

well would it be okay if I started it as a thread? if it got popular that I'd try to build a website?

I have a review site, still being built, which could host the reviews.

Great. I'll send you the review format and you can get started. As of right now, I'll take as many as you can make for the first issue.

Nope. Not at all. I'm out running errands right now so I'll send the format later.

In order for it to succeed, the review must be detailed, even perhaps A4 sized (if it were on paper). My guess is that what most creators would be interested in is bugs so they can correct them. Also an informative (without spoilers if possible) on what the game is exactly like from different viewpoints would be nice.

Perhaps a WIP section where it would be a preview section, and a finished games review section. Just my thoughts.

Nickydude, do you by chance remember the Gunn3r Games Informer? With Bugsy's enthusiasm to get reviewing again, I thought I would restart that. However, because Gunn3r Games doesn't exist anymore... It's kinda hard to call it the Gunn3r Games Informer, so I'm going by a new name: mbd_update. Hopefully that's a good style of review, and what you were looking for as far as in depthness.

I vaguely recall it. mbd_update, will that be the name of the reviewing site? Perhaps something a bit more informative might be better if it is and who knows, perhaps a review or two might make it into the newsletter.

If a website is developed for this idea, would you mind forwarding the link and could we add it to our weblinks page?

Cheers

@Nickydude, as of right now, the details are vague at best, but I should be able to tell you more in about a day or two as I sort things out. As of right now, I can tell you that it is an online newsletter with an accompanying site that covers DBP, FPSC and DarkGDK games (previews and reviews), has editorial articles about events within the community, and news articles about major events. The "mbd_update" is the name of the new newsletter/site, and will be released on a quarterly basis, unless we can get enough support to run it on a monthly basis. For those of you who need a refresher/don't know what the Gunn3r Games Informer was, here is a link:
Download Gunn3r Games Informer (Right click, Save Link As...)

Also, this is the review style that we will be following. I based it off of both of the Game Informer and IGN review style.
