I've made some code for controlling the competiton Alien model from a 3rd person PoV. It's a bit sloppy but should give a general idea of how to use his animations for anyone new to that type of thing. He can run around with W and S, jump with E, plays idle animations after 175 frames of being left alone, and falls down after running out of stamina.

This code requires a grass image, but as this is made to show off the alien animations and not the media, it's not important what you use. It also needs the alien model, obviously.

The code isn't heavily commented, but the basic sections are explained.

Hmm... it goes fine for me... perhaps the code just isn't running well on your computer?

You can use 'set object speed' to change animation speed, but personally I had problems with detecting object frames after using the command.

its good thanks mouse! also works fine for me with similar specs to falelorn, although when i tested yesterday with my own program the animation was running really fast so i had to set the speed very low, do you think this might be a problem if the alien animates at different speeds on different systems?

The animations of the model ran slow for me too. Even at 60fps. I fixed it by setting the model/objects speed to 60.

ugh, this forum needs a delete button for posts, or even an edit would do

There is an edit button, under your avatar on the post .

I'm glad it works for you guys. The animating speed puzzles me, try setting it at different values.

I've got the code in my CodeBase now .

Hi,
I can't find the code that Mouse posted. I hear there's a source
button, but I can't even find that. Can some body please put it in a Code section or point out the location of this Source button?

Thanks,
