My wife and I decided to try a mod out since we have 4 games in development. After reading up on all the mods available, we decided to try out Fenix mod. The mod performs well in the levels when we test each one, and then we decided to build a demo level of the games we are working on. However, after the build we noticed there were some entities missing in my wife's Egyptian game.

She is using the following:

Dark Egypt-V2 Basic False Walls & Floors- 01, 02, 03, 04

We noticed that after installing the mod, the entity false wall 01 was there during a test, but when it came time to build, the entity was not there. Further checking of the level revealed the other three false walls (02, 03, 04) were also missing, as well as floor grates that covered pits.

I managed to figure out what was missing, as I checked the Files directory after the build was completed. It seems that it was these specific entities from the Dark Egypt package that were missing in the build directory. I copied them manually to where they belong and everything worked out fine.

Since we are new to using a mod, we are trying to understand the difference we have noticed. We are wondering if this is a package issue, or a mod issue when building? All-in-all, we are still pleased with the mod and sudden performance boost it has given us. We just wanted to gain some understanding.

Cheers

Try reporting the bug in the Fenix mod thread. I believe I have seen something similar happen with some of the Dark Egypt models but with another mod.

Does this only happen with the mod activated?

I was not too sure on reporting to the Fenix Mod thread until I knew more on this issue. With no mod in place, the Egypt pack works and appears fine in a build. We were more curious on whether others have experienced the same issue. However, now that I know what to look for, it is all good. I'll schedule some time to test out other mods to see if they to yield similar issues.

This does not seem to be a Fenix Mod issue (in my perspective) stock fpsc has always had a problem carrying files over (such as EAIs gun texture) for now do it manually and I will look in to making a fix for my mod.

We agree with you hockeykid. We've had issues using another mod as well, so it seems it's related to the Dark Egypt false walls and floors entities. Other packs and such we use work fine. At least we know what needs to be checked when a build is completed.

On a side note, we were really impressed with the Fenix mod. My wife has integrated video and her frame rate on a build was 11 fps. After installing Fenix mod, it jumped up to 38 fps and she was drooling on the keyboard My system has a descent video card and the fps went right up from 60-120 I was done the level before my coffee was ready.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Cheers

Thanks, GJ. Here I thought my wife was on something when she said the walls were missing when we tried out the build with the mod in place. Now I have to take her out for dinner since we made a bet Plus at least I know it's not just us going through it. Have to do some grovelling now and get flowers... heh heh

Cheers
