The title says it all. When everything is dark, the enemies are the only things lit up. Can somebody please help?

At night i lay awake on my bed, gazing up at the stars, and i wonde-hey, where'd the roof go?

Turn on full shaders, and apply COZ's horror FX shader to it, and it will react to the light and no longer glow in the dark.
Yes, this is annoying in FPSC.

I dont know, i just know it happens with faceless horror and soul feeder, (both from the dungeon pack). It probably happens with others too.

@Adrian- Thanks!

Then you see dead people!

sorry, couldn't resist!

Yes, it's due to FPSC's dynamic lighting. Do you have shaders turned on?

This might help.

Quote: "Just a quick tip for you. I was playing with new character submissions from future FPSC artists and noticed some of the characters relied heavily on strong lighting for the best effect. Currently X9 users cannot control this, and currently rely on a fixed shader. I just wanted to to point you to the file which will allow you to change the ratio a little:

Ensure you make suitable backups, then navigate to this folder:

FPS Creator Files effectbank fastbone

And open the shader file FASTBONE.FX, then locate the line:

gogo = (max(0, dot(netNormal, L))*SurfColor*0.25) + (SurfColor*0.75) + AmbiColor;

And replace it with:

// gogo = (max(0, dot(netNormal, L))*SurfColor*0.25) + (SurfColor*0.75) + AmbiColor;
gogo = (max(0, dot(netNormal, L))*SurfColor*0.9) + (SurfColor*0.1) + AmbiColor;

This will change the ratio of directed light vs area lighting from 25/75 to 90/10, meaning 90% of the characters illumination will come from the point light in the local area, and only 10% will come from the general average lighting irrespective of whether the polygon is facing those light sources.

A great way to learn shaders is to change little things inside working shaders and see the results. If the shader fails to load, that means you have changed too much and so always maintain backups before radically changing your shader. Although NOTEPAD is great, it does not have very good undo/redo features. Find a nice text editor with great undo/redo and you are on your way to playing with shaders and making your visuals unique to your game!"

Yes, i tried it, and it didnt work for me. Nothing ever works for me. I edited the script, saved it, turned full shader effects on, went to the enemies properties and chose the edited file. Did i do anything wrong?

I figured that would be a good thing.

If you haven't already, try cleaning your BIN and DBO files. After that, make sure your enemies are moving. To my knowledge, unless you're using PBUM, entity lighting is only altered when they move a certain distance.

In your root directory for FPSC, you should see a program cald FPSC Cleaner, just run that.

Ok theyre glowing again, so i cleaned the files again, but nothing changed. So i turned on dynamic lighting, but still nothing different. This is really getting on my nerves... I can't just eccept this, i need them to react properly.

You need to change the actual shader of the characters. Apply the fastbone fix xplosys and I showed you, and then apply the fastbone shader to the characters. They should then be vertex lit.

I can still see them in the dark. I just have bad luck, whenever i'm having problems with something, and people try to help me, nothing ever works!
