He was there right from the beginning, I didn't get the chance to play his game though ... read the Zenicanin14 thread, critical depth gets a mention there

Put it this way - Critical Depth was written when DB v1.07 first came out. A *long* time ago.

MushroomHead - I believe I remember your name. Hi anyway Where is this Zenicanin14 thread then?

By the way over the last few days I've remade Critical Depth from scratch, and got quite a bit further than the original got even though WebDext and I worked on it for weeks!

Screenshots here for anyone interested:

I was called PapaRoach in the old forums, changed by alias when we moved to RGT. Zenicanin14 (da codes) thread was supposed to be here but got changed/removed (?!?) since these new forums were launched :-

Tried the download above, looks nice.

Hmm, v1.07

that was round about the time i came on the scene (utter n00b ofcourse, apart from knowing small amounts of c). I think i came just a little before that.

You probably had no idea who i was, since i was a quiet n00b who stuck to the necomers forum i think.

List of names i can remember having:
Sum1uk
SomeOne
Theking_uk (or similar)
jasrow (or) jaro
ShockFire
ShockForge

and more...

'fraid none of those names ring a bell Shock. Good to see there's still people here from the 'old days' though I was new then as well.. why, I think it took me till almost v1.09 to get the 2nd highest post count on the whole board I obviously spent too much time talking and not enough programming!

TDK Man just posted in RGT's replacement forums (http://www.dannywartnaby.co.uk/rgt/index.php#6) ... look in showcase. RGT's domain reg is expiring next month so most people making a move to the replacement forums (I visit both). The Masked Coder is still round (RGT forums mostly, he's the guy who believes in imaginary rabbits ), haven't seen Magallen, Touchdownboy for a long while.

Hey indi! Long time no see.. talk.. read, whatever. How's it going down there? Glad to see you lot haven't fallen off the world yet

Critical Depth hit a wall 'cos DB was too slow and I was too crap at making things more efficient. But I'm a lot better now and obviously not using old DB anymore.. Tin Cans is the result

Although I think it uses some textures off the old DB Classic CD.. the one that came with a little photocopied letter, not the boxed version.

Evening. Hmmm. Was that the one with cute little fat subs? Vague memory. Grief that was a while back...

Anyone have a proper link for "da codez"? Was always a chortle. If I remember rightly I was constantly off my head at the time, so just wrote complete gibberish. Heh.

Cheers

Heh. Crap little letter? The one welcoming you to the wonderful world of programming or somesuch? Heh. And no manual

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

I wouldn't say my subs were fat.. and they definitely weren't cute! But they weren't too realistic either. I suppose it could have been. There were some funny grey and blue mines as well. There weren't too many sub games about though.. I believe there were two in fact, including mine.

That's the one Ah the good old days.. I can just imagine Lee's mum or someone photocopying all those letters and going down the post office to send out 50 little parcels to various people who bought it
