If you use the old OS, DBP does a work as an old version.
For example, it is Windows98,Me

If you use WindowsXp, a version will be updated.
For example, it is Xp,Vista,7.

Have you checked to see whether any of the files were updated? For example, the main DBPro folder should contain files such as

upgrade7_4.txt

and various files in the compiler folder should have changed too.

If none of those are new then perhaps the upgrade didn't run correctly - or the files were installed in the wrong place (this happened to me a couple of days ago when I tried to upgrade Texture Maker on my Vista machine). You could try a search for upgrade7_4.txt and see whether the OS can find it.

Edit

Also, you should post your problem on this thread so TGC can sort out W7 bugs:

Or better still, here:

I'm sorry...

WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT!?

...

Isn't that version displayed in the IDE relevant to the IDE and not the compiler/libraries?

Athlon64 2.7gHz->OC 3.9gHz, 31C, MSi 9500GT->OC 1gHz core/2gHz memory, 48C, 4Gb DDR2 667, 500Gb Seagate + 80Gb Maxtor + 40Gb Maxtor = 620Gb, XP Home
Air cooled, total cost £160

The version displayed in the standard IDE is for the DBPro compiler. Other IDEs (except BlueIDE2 apparently) have a "Help about Darkbasic Professional" type of option.

It should say 1.074 in a popup.

And I think pcRaider was saying that if you use Windows98 or ME the version doesn't change after an update. But the newer windows do like Xp/Vista.

I'm not a real programmer but I play one with DBPro!
