S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is on sale on Steam currently for 75% off, so that's only $5 for it. I've never played it, but heard about it, and it's gotten fairly decent ratings, so I grabbed it.

I'm curious, for people who own it, how good do you think it is? What are its ups and downs? How good is the multiplayer? etc etc

I dunno, I bought it awhile ago, and couldnt really get into it. It seems like it has a lot of potential, and my brother has played through it several times and really loved it, but I just cant do it.

I think it's a decent game. Think of it as an outside FPS, with some RPG elements. I dont think the RPG elements are that strong, but the combat is pretty good, and the atmosphere is quite good too. For a budget game, I dont think you can fault it.

Stalker is a FPR(First Person Roleplay). Its very fun but some moments can be frustrating when you cant beat something.

I only played for a while (my PC died soon after trying it. No, no connection to the game. It was just old ). And it looked like the best game I was playing in last few years...

Make games, not war.
