Hmm, everyone seems to love Chaos Engine, don't get me wrong, I love it too - but I don't think it was the Bitmap Brothers best work.

Gods was great.
Magic Pockets was ok, but it did'nt have the right pace for a platform game.
Speedball2 and Xenon2 were both incredible.
But the icing on the cake for me was Cadaver, I love that game, the whole feel of it was so much fun. The creatures were great too - especially the slimy ones, it's amazing what quality of graphics they could manage with 32 colours (or 16 on the ST!). Simply the 2nd best isometric adventure game in history, the first would be Head Over Heels.

I prefered Alien Breeds to Chaos Engine myself - sorry but way more fun, plus they made that cool Squeal! when you killed them

Speedball2 was outstanding
You played the remake of that on the PC? Its interesting, but really lacks the put speed that 2 had ...
Xenon2 i still have on a 5.25" somwhere for the PC, along with that annoyingly addictive Titus the Fox.

Ya know best ISO i remember on any format was Space Crusade, before i actually learnt that Warhammer was a tabletop game ... was pretty cool thou.

Though, really best games i remember cross platform were Leisure Suit Larry also remember my mom came in once when he was having sex with that hocker, she took one look at that big CENSORED box and Clipped me round the back of the head - didn't see my Amiga for almost a month

Guess what Bitmap Brothers said about other formats...
"We have no plans to bring it out on other platforms at this time." Sucks doesn't it.

They're releasing/released Gods, Magic Pockets and Speedball2 for the GBA too. They look great.

Van B: The emulator and game didn't work. Has anyone got the PC version or an amiga version running on their PC that they could email me?

It was an ST emulator, should work fine simply by installing, selecting the TOS file, then opening the chaos engine .ST file. STeem is a lot easier to use than WinUAE.

under Winuae , I've created typical configs :
Amiga 500
Amiga 600
Amiga 1200
When I want to install a new game , I just load one of these config ( depending of the game ) , I added the disk file and save the modified config with the game name . . .

Hmm, I used to have an Amiga A600. Do you have this? Do you also have Chaos Engine and/or Chaos Engine 2?

WinUAE is a windows Amiga emulator, stands for Universal Amiga Emulator I think. It uses setup files for each game to allow individual memory and display setups. It can get a little confusing, but once you get a game working it's just a case of saving the setup and using it to run the game.

In my local game, there was some Amiga compilations, hundreds of games and a copy of WinUAE to run them on. Meant to buy that too , they're not there anymore.

yes but don't forget that there are several Amiga models .

Amiga 1000 Kickstart on disks.
Amiga 500 Rom 1.2 ECS/OCS
Amiga 500 Rom 1.3 ECS/OCS
Amiga 2000 Rom 1.3 ECS/OCS
Amiga 500+ Rom 2.0 ECS/OCS
Amiga 600 Rom 2.1 ECS/OCS
Amiga 3000 Rom 2.1 ECS/OCS
Amiga 1200 Rom 3.0 AGA
Amiga 1200 Rom 3.1 AGA
Amiga 4000 Rom 3.5 AGA
Amiga CD32 = Amiga 1200 without keyboard nor mouse

Each Amiga is a different configuration set.
some olds games like "Cauldron" ( if I remind ) can only work with rom 1.2
Amiga 500 games ( Rom 1.x ) are not sure to work woth Rom 2.x or 3.x ( work with JST or WHDLOAD )
Amiga AGA games don't work with Rom older than 3.0
som AGA games don't work with rom 3.0 , only with 3.1
some Amiga CD32 don't work with Amiga 1200 config with fast ram

and other restrictions can be found . . .
