How can I write a byte/string in a certain place in a file (ex. x = x/mapsize).

when you save the file your making a linear progression of lines to save or something similar.

EG:

write string 1,"moo"
write string 1,"bah"
write string 1,"meow"

to read that back in just rewrite in the same order but using the read command.

EG:

read string 1,STR$1
read string 1,STR$2
read string 1,STR$3

It would be easier to save the whole file from a button when ever you needed to read and save the data.

Thanks, but that's not what I was looking for, anyways I figured out how to do it so nevermind.
