I've looked through google. Useless stuff there.
I used search. Nothing of any help.

I would have thought the buttons would have just been .JPG's to make things as simple as possible, but, no, they have a custom file extension, which leaves me to question;

How do you create backdrops anyway? (And how come there's no information regarding how to do so in Doc's Manual or Community Guide?)

If by backdrops you're referring to skyboxes, there is a very useful and easy to use program called Skies which you can download for free from http://fpsfree.com/. A very handy tool, you simply need 6 images, which in this case can be .JPG's, that are then compiled together with the click of a button, and automatically saved into your skybox folder and ready to use 100% in FPSC. You can even play around with your images within Skies to make them brighter or darker, or play around with the light contrast to get the atmosphere of your liking.

Short of this, I'm not overly sure what you're asking if it's not in regards to skyboxes. Hope this helped though!

Cheers

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

@ DocSpoc

The backgrounds are jpg files that are located in the following directory:

The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\backdrops

When you are building a game, you click on the Level Settings tab and you can set the background for the Title Page by clicking edit on the Title Screen. Under General, you can select the path to the background you want to use. To make them, you can either find your jpg images or create them using Photoshop or other paint program.

Oh, alright. Thanks.

I discovered most of the files in those directorys arn't .JPG, but have a custom file extension, this includes an number of backdrops.

I wanted to replace buttons in the game menu too, not only the backdrop. Is there an add-on for photoshop or something to enable importing of DDS files?
