I am new at this designing games and such. Can anyone help me start learning, if you can, post any tips for learning to make and program a game, and where to start first. Thanks for any help.

You post title is very unhelpful.

And you should have looked in the newcomers section.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because we're sadistic losers with nothing better to do. (joke)

Just start with something easy. Make first something like a story board with all that you want in your game. when you have any doubt ,just use the Thread Subject Search.

for example, if you want to know how to make a sprite, write SPRITE and press return.

Good luck

Go through the tutorial one DB pro
fiddle around with the commands

If you want to learn all the basics you can buy one of the books (DB for bigginers, DBP vol 1 and 2).
