Ok this code below using the CLS command along with the ink command I thought would start the background screen out white and the text black. But all it does is make the text black and the background black. Is the ink or cls broke, or are both broke?

I have DX9b & latest Geforce4 drivers.

Does anyone else have this problem with the code?

What you're doing there is trying to change the background color of the text. If you want to change the screen background color you can combine Cls with RGB:

cls rgb(256-a,0,0)

Thanks, your code worked, I guess i just don't understand what the help file is trying to say:

CLS
This command will clear the screen using the current background ink color previously specified with the INK
command. This command differs from the CLS found in the Basic2D command set which will paint the
screen with a specified color.
