I am using DBpro alienware demo and it worked fine until I tried to load a 3d format other than .x, I have tried several different models, all of which worked in DB.

the alienware demo seems to be V4 and V4 only accepts .x format due to the change to the internal dbo format.

the other formats got reactivated in V5

The latest DBPro language demo up right now is 1.05 (or upgrade 5).

.x object is the only format that you use... unless 3ds has come back
