It's a courtesy we do for each other to prevent one's thread from being locked.

Nice for a first model. Get some reference photos and keep working on it.

Yeah, its an interesting model. With a spaceship texture it would even look better but that stealth skin isnt bad either.

UV mapping sucks, i'd be better off using more than one texture.

Well, I downloaded and opened the model, but ran into trouble. He made it all in one mesh and it would be a bear to try and separate it into parts that could be textured individually. The best you could do is a box texture, but then some parts are in front of and behind others and well...

His texture may be about the best that can be done.

Hador, for future reference create your model in parts... wings, engines, body, etc. That way the individual parts can be laid out and textured. It takes a while to learn, but after a while you'll be able to plan ahead for the UV while you're making the model.

I am the only one who even posted a texture, and it wasn't even made with a UV map

Xplosys I do see your point. It would be a bear I was just thinking maybe my texture was not showing up.

Hador I like the model. My point was I thought the texture on my computer was not working, I did seperate the meshes of the model now it can be mapped easier.

Heltor,

I guess in your program you can select the individual primitives? It may be possible in Ms3d but I don't know how.

Here is the model in .ugh format (sorry, but all I have at work) separated into individual groups for each primitive. I also removed the dead faces (i.e. the ones that are not seen) from the tailpipe, nose and fuselage.

@Xplosys there was only a single group because .x format does not generally save grouping information is all (it's not a very good format IMHO).

I only use this for fun and have no interest in making commercial games ^_^

Nbt,

My X format saves grouping information just fine. I think it's a single group because he made it that way.

Oh well lol

Must be me and fragmotions .x exporter, as it always saves with a single group called "group" when I export to .x

Ah, I don't export from my modeling program. I save the file normally as a ".ms3d" and open it with LithUnwrap to UV it. Then I save it to X from there. I can open any X file with LithUnwrap and it's grouped and laid out properly. His is all one group, which is why I think he grouped it that way.
