Two new model packs have been released today.



The castle pack allows you to construct your own castle, with an assortment of turrets, towers and walls, plus buildings. There is close integration with the segments and buildings contained within the pack, allowing for the entity building to be used as a shell, whilst you can paint segments inside to provide the interior space! Make the interior come alive, with a rich pack of segments, allowing you to make the castle kitchen, pantry, banquet hall etc.

A fully realised environment for FPS Creator X9, an old style movie theater. Includes new shader effects never before seen in FPS Creator for a truly dynamic environment. Requires a pixel shader 2.0 compatible graphics card, and full shader effects option enabled in FPS Creator.

Awesome, but too expensive. I was happy with buying it for £18 but then the added VAT they don't tell you about until the end bumps it up to £21, so I'll not be buying this anymore

Oh snap! 38 looks amazing! Though I'm not quite sure I'm ready to spend 30$ on it just yet, though I'm curious, anyone who's bought this, how does the animated UV shader work?

Same here!

$30 for model pack 38 is not too high of price at all considering the artist who made it (bond1) and all the shaders he made for this pack I'm sure it took a while to get fully working in FPSC and are worth the $30 asking price alone, plus all the high quality segments and models. This pack is actually under priced.
Model pack 37 looks great also.

Both packs are great,

like the way you can piece the castle together and all the details in the castle pack.

the water, drips, puddles, etc.. are Xtreme in the theater pack. Can be used for so many things, going to add some water to a jungle scene and see what I come up with.

Wow.. 2 many toys 2 little time. Funtastic job guys. thnx

is anybody else having this problem with model pack 38 I've downloaded it 3 different times and tried to install it but I keep getting a corupt package error every time I try to run the install? this is the first time I have every recieved this error with any on my new rig during an install.

I just built this PC about 2 weeks ago and its been running great and haven't had any problems until now,

specs'
MSI NF980-G65 motherboard Nvidia 980a chipset
AMD Phenom 955 BE quad
4 gigs Gskill DDR3 PC 1333
BFG Geforce 260 GTX 216 core
1TB Hitachi 7200 HD Sata
LG Blue Ray burner 8X

Edit: I'm going to try downloading to my laptop and see what happens its running Vista HP 64-bit

Are you or your internet service provider using a download accelerator? Download accelerator programs increase download speeds by compressing data that may be unreadable by the operating system.

Hey xplosys (Brian), I checked my browser tonight and I did have some download accelerator active that I did not know I even had so I disabled it and downloaded MP 38 again and it installed this time NP.So that must have been the problem!

anyony having problems with the map editor crashing when doing a quick level preview? this only happens with media from pack 37.

38 looks great, 37 looks like yet another sub-par Arteria pack.

Jeku always gets drunk and tries to Moderate the ocean. Tirelessly slapping the waves as they roll in.

Don't know about anyone else, but I for one have never found endless generic "wow, keep up the work" type comments for anything from a Bond1 masterpiece to a box with stretched texture very constructive.

I have always found negative crits very constructive and tend to learn a lot from them. That way I can improve and learn from my mistakes

Better that than spending my days thinking my work is great because no one wants to hurt my feelings ^_^

I only use this for fun and have no interest in making commercial games ^_^

Simply stating that something is "good", "bad" or something worse is not being constructive in any form.

I like model pack 37. It is of very good quality and I will purchase it.

Model pack 38 was created by a modeler who goes above and beyond what I would consider as a baseline for very good quality. If 37 is very good then 38 is excellent. If 37 is excellent then 38 is superb. That is why Bond1 can now charge $10 more for his work and yet it is still a great buy for such quality. He has gotten to know the limits of DBP and FPSC and is able to make better models by working around those limitations. I don't know how he does it but he does it very well.

I consider all of the other model packs as good buys as well.

Well, that's my two cents worth.

That does not provide the author any means of information to assist them in becoming better or producing a better pack. That is not constructive and should not be provided. The only thing it aims to achieve is state the poster's bleak opinion.

The problem I would have with Metro Theatre is that apparently it requires Full Shaders to be turned on. Unfortunately, although I'm supposed to have a compatible video card, I have problems with other textures that I might want to use. They can really look bad. Also, some (not all) characters tend to disappear. So I'm leary about getting this pack.

BTW, I too like Thraxas' made over avatar. And . . . Rudolph's nose polisher

For characters that disappear use Appear2.fpi as it works much better with shaders. Also for meshes (including characters like bond1's people pack etc) that look bad with full shaders, just remove the effects line in their .fpe and they should look fine.

That's what I did anyway and have had no problems since

I only use this for fun and have no interest in making commercial games ^_^

Model Pack 37 looks good from what I see BUT.....

...I will never understand why anyone puts hours, days and weeks of work into a model pack and then is unable or unwilling to provide more than a couple of screenshots

No matter how good a model pack is, its the screens and vids that actually SELL it.

I (p.e.) didnt dare to buy MP 20 because I had near to no info about the character quality and it was the characters I was after. After the author did put up the whole content into the shop and I could examine it piece by piece I immediately bought it - and did never regret it. I also bought MP 23 only after watching the (extensive) vid several times and I can also recommend it.

So regarding MP 37 I'll wait patiently for more information.....or never buy it

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^
