Are 22915 triangles too much for a gun?

6000 is too much for a gun.

Jeku always gets drunk and tries to Moderate the ocean. Tirelessly slapping the waves as they roll in.

That's a lot of triangles!

But 60,000 is too much? You sure? So does that mean anything?

Cheers

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

No wai. That is usually my ideal poly count. I would place 10,000 at a max.

Depends a bit on the system spec. and number of limbs and what not. 3500-4000 tris is what I usually aim for because with the hand meshes included, I try to keep under 5000 tris.

If you're doing it to be sold, that's a good guideline.

If it's for your own game then the sky is the limit pretty much since you'll know in advance and can massage the balance of weapons, characters, entities, etc to have reasonable a cumulative polycount.

Keep in mind also if you want dual wielding or something because that will double your polycount.
