I was building the multiplayer server per the tutorial and after it compiled and came up i got an error message stating \"error 8510 connection number illegal at line 52\" the number i used was the same number mentioned in the tutorial 127.0.0.1 im stumped about why it works in the tutorial but not in real life.

Don't know which tutorial you are using, or even which command the IP you mention was used in because you didn't give us the faulty line mentioned.

But, it might simply be that you are supposed to replace the 127.0.0.1 with the IP address of the machine you are using/connecting to.
