I have been using X10 lately and took X9 off my drive a while back. Today I installed X9 again because I wanted to check out all the features in model pack 38. When I go to install the model pack, it sees the X10 install and won't give me the install option, only repair, reinstall or remove, but not an option to install to my X9 program.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you get around it?

I used to have X9 and X10 installed on two different drives and operating systems, so this is the first time I noticed this.

Happened to me a while ago. Did you download the X10 specific packs from your order list?

Thanks Nickydude,

Packs 36 and 38 are not program specific. I seem to remember at least one of them gave me the X9 / X10 install option the first time I installed them. Now there is no install option.

@xplosys : A work round is to rename x10 folder to something like FPS Creator x102 then unstall the model pack 38.

Then restall the pack now picking x9 to install.

Then rename your folder back to FPS Creator x10.

Both versions should have model pack 38 installed.

Hope this helps

It didn't work. The installer is still seeing the X10 install and not giving me the install option. Any more thought before I contact support?

I got around it temporarily by copying the files folder from X10 to X9, but that causes some other issues.

One way of getting around this is to uninstall the pack, then reinstall and select the option to use with DB Pro, once finished go to the installation directory and copy these files over to your X9 and X10 installations.

@xplosys : Strange as it work perfect for me. Once you unstalled the pack you should have the option to install in x9.

Thanks Mike, I'll try that, though last night I was unable to remove the pack through Add/Remove Programs. Some kind of registry glitch I imagine that's leaving something there.

It's not critical right now as I intend to swap my drives out shortly for bigger ones and replace this W7 Beta with a full version.

I see now I dont use the add/remove programs method,I just click the installer and it gives you the options to modifly, repair or remove.

Maybe try that way will help.

Yeah, that's the options I get, but I want the install option. I'm guessing that I can't get the install option because the registry says that it's already installed - and it is, to X10. Now how do I get it to let me install it to X9?

Thats why you have to rename your fpsc creator x10 folder and then click remove.

This will then remove the pack from your harddrive but not from your pack as you have renamed it something else. Then u install again picking x9.

Hope this helps best s4real

Simple steps to follow :

1. rename fpsc creator x10 folder to fpsc creator 102

2. click installer and then click remove.

3. Once you have removed the pack then click the installer again.

4. When installing pick x9

5. rename your x10 folder pack to fpsc creator x10 after the install is done.

6. You should have two fpsc creators with the pack installed.
