well has any one. if so could u please list the programs used and how the bsp was loaded into dbpro (pak files or not) and how they were saved (pack files with maps folder containing bsp and textures folder containing .jpgs etc).
this would help me out to no end and i think a few other people as well...

thanks...

no..... actually since patch5 i havnt been able to load any bsp's Made using valve hammer editor and the images were in a wad which was specified instead of the pack file. Both were in the game directory.

It gave me this yellowbsp map with no roof or floor.
wierd stuff

BSP's are fine here in Update 5. I made them in Valve Hammer3.4
things to check:

-BSP is compiling in VHE3.4 without any errors
-wad file is in game dir
- * image files from wad are exported to game dir in their native format (tga, bmp etc)
-direct x 9.0b
-your latest video drivers
-latest dbp IDE 109b

(I haven't tried pak or pk3 yet)
* I think this is being fixed by TGC/DB Team

Like I said, all works ok here. BTW you can load 3ds model files natively again if you like.

Fine for me, im using q3 maps for my game. It is a bit darker than in patch 4.1 but there arn't any problems with loading bsps as far as i know (apart from the crap collision that they arn't gonna fix )

Maybe you just need to add more lights in your bsp? Try increasing the ambient light on the level.

Once you start down the Dark Path, forever will it dominate your destiny...

ssj3_shadow, it isn't necessary to figure out the native format, just export all textures as TGA files and they will display correctly for your BSP files

Get wally and use it to open the wad file that your bsp uses. find the textures your using and Export them to the game dir. That's what worked for me after talking to apex a while back.

the program runs fine and loads the bsp , but the textures dont load they are black and when im inside the bsp i cant see any thing but the green background.
the bsp in dbpro works but the stuff i create all doesnot. i tries lots of combinations including packing, saving textures seperatly, including wads.. but i still cant get them to load properly

This is caused by the fact that your BSP file does not have a valid lightmap embedded in the file. When you compiled your BSP, HLRAD must be failing, this could be caused by invalid brushes, or a leak. Check the build log to see where HLRAD is going wrong. That's whats causing the colourful disco effect.

I tried to establish no bsp errors before anything else - READ the build data when you compile and make sure there are NO errors
