I wasn't sure where to post this, here or the chat, its media I guess but really just want some advice on the background I created.

If it belongs in Chat let me know.

This will be eventually used as a Title screen for the game I am eventually going to be working on.

I'm not sure if the backgrounds a little much and would like to know how I could improve on it.

Let me know, I like critisism as it helps me improve so dont be shy, I wont be upset.

Not much can be said. It's awesome. The only crit I have is, to perhaps increase the font size in the sub caption. They need to be just a little heavier to be seen better. Other than that it's perfect. Nice job!

Beautiful! You've done an incredible job on that man! Very artistic, creative, high quality, not crowded but not bare and over all just awesome looking

I'll have to be honest, I'm loving the letters used for Forsaken but I'm just not the hugest fan of the font used to write the line beneath it - other than that, it's absolutely perfect. Even without changing that font (which is simply my opinion), it's perfect.

You've got to put out a pack of backgrounds for games next!

Cheers

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

Thanks Guys.

Thanks for the advice Cosmic, going to maybe change the colour and make it larger to make it stand out, its hard because the background is so vibrant that it dominates everything and makes it hard to make things stand out on it.

Braden, I plan on making a menu/background pack very soon, its something that isn't done alot so I am going to give it ago.

the prophet said it first:" not much can be said"
the only thing I would do different would be is take out the tag-line at the end; "now humanities final hope" it seems just a tad redundant. or not. I'm not 100% sure.

but I'm looking forward to your pack!

BTW, what is the font you used for the title?

Forsaken was game produced by Aklaim, back when Windows 95 first came out. From the pic you may want to re-name your title to Forsaken in Hell

It is pretty overly used, I will think up a catch line later on

Unreal Tournament font.

I dont intend to change the name, its not going to be commercial and I dont see why games can't have the same names, movies do it.

Besides the game is not based in Hell so why would I call it that?

I like it very much, only thing is the skull seems to leap out because its so white and flat, I think if you made this more stylised or realistic it would work better.
I have a nice skull render I did recently will post it if I can get onto photobucket, the site is real funky right now.

Make the letters more yellow and orange or something instead of red.
Having the letters and the background the same red hides the letters.
A lighter colored wording will make it stand out more.
Looking very nice indeed.

Conjured Entertainment: Thanks man, defiantly took your advice, didn't change it to yellow or orange though, made it grey, yellow or orange made it look weird.

rolfy: Very nice skull rolfy, thanks, I defiantly used it, take a look at the changes, reuploaded the editted picture.

Copyright goes down to all levels, but if it is a non-commercial game, I guess the same name should be OK. I was just trying to help avoid any legal problems in case it was going commercial.

They say, a picture is worth a 1000 words, my first impression with the harsh red and the skull was Hell. The latest pic looks cool. But backgrounds are not supposed to be just pretty, they are meant to set the mood for the game and build curiousity and to inspire the player to want to accomplish the goal of the game.

Yes, Yes, it is looking better now.
The lighter fire is much better, very nice.

Yeah, it was flames that needed more yellow & orange.
Well done.
