What is the best way to go about normal/bump mapping a multi-textured object exported in .x format?

I know I could use a shader, but how would I apply it to a more complex object, say a house with interior and exterior?

Thanks all.

I have solved this, it was quite simple.
Thanks anyway!

P.S. Post if you want to know how I went about it, it's late and I can't be bothered typing it all out at the moment!

I had to use a shader along with painting uvw maps.
It's a lot slower but gives a much nice finish in my opinion!
