I am still new to blender in general and decided to download the 2.5 version, but i cant seem to figure out to add a reference image. Any ideas?

In 2.49 you just go to view>background image... 2.5 might be different though. Cheers.

Just downloaded the alpha build, I must say that the new UI is far more confusing than the old one. =/

At the end of this it says how http://bohemiantruckstop.blogspot.com/2009/08/blender-25-update.html
Although I could only get background image to appear if view was down one of axis's and ortho or camera view, not any ortho view.

I must admit I have tried the new version and although a lot better than used to be imho still a way of user friendly. The thing that gets me most is right clicking mouse to do anything not left click, but maybe that can be changed. I haven't delved that far.

I am certain my instructor at college uses left clicking in the pre-liminary version of Blender 2.5.

Yes it can be and so easy now. I think it's time for me to go back and give blender another try.
