Hey everyone,

Attached is the .psd file of a skybox template I made. Here's how it works...

The resolution of the image itself is 4096x3072, and is composed of a grid of 12 1024x1024 boxes. Basically, you just load up this grid and paint your skybox in over top of it, then separate the grid into the standard 6 1024x1024 boxes that you can then load into Skies.

The high res PNG for those of you that do not own Photoshop is available here.

Here's a low res preview...(the skybox second layer is done by Terry Schwarz, and is the default skybox for Skies.)

Hope you enjoy, and I hope it helps you create skyboxes just a little easier!

(Again, the .psd is attached.)

very nice contribution!! Now we have a template to create our own skyboxes and the skies program to easily get them into fpsc.. doesn't get any better!

Thanks man, I'm glad you like it. I just figured it was one of those things that everyone sort of wanted in the back of their head, but never got around to doing.

AaronG - Very cool, I have been meaning to do something like this for so looong. So glad to see you have done it. Just for that I'll pull out the code and make the images save to dds format. Which is another thing I have been wanting to do. Great job, many people should be able to create custom skyboxes with this. Kudos to you.
