Hey all.

I'm not entirely sure what a system like this would be called, which is why I've probably missed it in the help files. I do know, however, that such a system or one similar, seems important to any useful application.

Enough of my probably inaccurate talk, I'm looking for a system that will allow an Application to access the computer. I'm basically looking to be able to navigate through Files on the Computer.

I mentioned I wasn't entirely sure what it's called, so I'll try to explain what exactly I'm meaning. A good example that I'm sure everyone knows about would be Microsoft Paint. Essentially, when you go File>Open, it opens up your Pictures Folder. It also lets you navigate through to documents, or through folders to find a picture to open.

I'm basically asking, is there any way to open up such a window using DBPro, so that a User could save the file anywhere, and re-open it. It seems like basic functionality to me, but I'm in the newbie corner so I can't claim prior experience.

Thanks in advance,
Callum.

In DBPro you have to either write your own file requester (Not the easiest of things in the world to do) or use a plug in such as BlueGUI which can do it with little more work than a single command

Without Music or Love the world would be a very empty place... Thank god I still have music.. --'-<@

Thanks for your very quick help =PRoF=

I'll have to look into this plug-in then, because I see it as a rather important piece of functionality.

Thanks again.

There's a free Plugin that does this as well... Goga's DBP Plugin 2.0. Look it up somewhere.

Hey Silvester.

I've looked it up, and I found a thread, and wow it's definitely what I need. Only problem is, the download leads to what I presume is his/her old website, which doesn't work any more.

I checked Google, but I can't find another link. Is there any chance you'd be able to send me it, or another link, please?

Thanks again,
Callum.

This thread has a file open/save snippet, no dll needed.

For Goga's dll...

Goga's DBP plugin

Aah, thanks so much! Got that sorted now.

Only thing is, where do I put each file? Sorry for such a probably stupid question, but there's no read-me or anything. I have a .dll, a .ini and then there's the Word file with the commands in. Obviously, only the .dll and .ini need installing somewhere, but where do they go?

Thanks again,
Callum.

There's a folder in your Compiler folder for user plug-ins. You can put the .dll in there.

And I believe the .ini file goes in the Editor\Keywords folder.
