Which would you advise?

I already have Cartography Shop, and I want a world editor.

I am thinking more of 3D World Studio more due to more features, but is the price jump worth it over what T.Ed has?

t.ed is a terrain program whilst 3d world studio is more of a world building type thing

I know that, but would I need 3D World Studio, all I would need it for is terrain, and T.Ed does that, and with Cartography shop, I can make the building and interiors that way too.. I am just not sure if I 3DWS has more than that I would want to spend the extra $$ on..

T.ed is worth it for terrains, its a great thing the only problem is vertex alpha texturing, but there qre a couple of threads around that solve that problem.

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them

Thanks for the tip.

I was more leaning to T.Ed anyways.. I was just trying to see if 3D Studio would top it or not..

I knew about height maps, but I like having direct control, with height maps, you make it, then preview it, if it not back, gotta go back and edit.
With a terrain engine like T.Ed or 3D World Studio, you see it directly and is more convenient and easier to paint textures.
