Hey guys. I recently(an hour and a half ago) started creating my 3d rendition of the Famas. I chose this gun because...well, my friend absolutly hates it. So I thought, why not. I'm not that experienced with model creating. I am in my seccond year of AutoCad, wich may have helped a little. So tell me what you guys think so far. Comments and criticism is encouraged

ALSO: If there are any rigging tutorials that you guys could link me to, that would be awesome.

Looks great, but it's not FPSC-ready yet, therefore you can't post it here It should be in the 3d chat section. Or you could rig it or just put it into FPSC to nail the thread down here

Cheers

Why do people post card-board cut outs, maybe they have a fetish about people posting about its card-board cut-outness, or do they like saying W.I.P?

Ok...

Well, this was my first game model. The only other 3d work I've done is with gaskets and supports in AutoCad. i just wanted to see what people thought so far. I'll be updating the pictures as I work.

And I really, really need a weapon rigging tutorial, I'm still looking around on my own, but if someone could link me to one that would be awesome.

No offense general J., but i belive that far more advanced tutorials are floating around on the internet. I dont mean to be harsh or mean, I just saying there are alot more qualitfied people out thier who are more capable of getting the points across. Hell am not even being narsacistic, i dont write tutorials since i dont think am at that point yet.

As for the cardboard cutout argument, people new to modeling often need guidence or motivation to keep them going. So in that way yeah post these threads up, we can help then.

Just a little crit, crap the images arent loading again =/
the top on the rifle, youv modeled the two parts inside the 'handle' area, i think it would be esaier to model them after ouv done the rest.

Craps damm internet has distracted me again, back to work.

Thats for a specific subject.
I dont know what you mean by there are more qualified people?...
I can do more than just that, thats childs play.
I'm simply wondering if that is what he meant.

Dont disqaulify people based on one thing(and might i add one thing that doesnt have anything disqualifyable about it?)

gahhh, Sorry, i didnt mean to come off brash, i mean people who generally make tutorials have been working in the area for along time or generally have alot of experience.

Iam not discreidting you am simply saying thats thiers always people who are more skilled than any of us so thier probably better to get information off.

Ok...
But How do you know what My experience level is?
I'm not saying I'm a pro, but theres always someone who is better than you (i dont mean YOU specifically, I mean evrybody), and you have to learn somewhere.
I do 8-10 rigs w\wo animations every two weeks, so yeah

No body is questioning anyone... Jezzz

Lets cool off.

@GJ: I checked out your tutorial, and basicaly all you did was replace a built in knife with your own. Not very helpful im my case, if I dont have a pre rigged gun lying around(wich I dont lol).

@Half Life: I know your not flaming, its just that the whole cardboard cut out fetish comment was a little weird. I use blender BTW

@Lazer: Don't really understand what your saying here:
Quote: "the top on the rifle, youv modeled the two parts inside the 'handle' area, i think it would be esaier to model them after ouv done the rest. "

I haz spoken. I'll update with a slightly modified pick later.

Ok, now I know what you DONT want, so I'm guessing I now know what you DO want, so I'll work on a tut shortly.

Craps iam thinking of a different version famas, sorry. In some models they replace the iron sights with red dots. I meant the irons look like a handle and from memory it looked like you had modeled red dot's underneath aswell.

Oh and General J. I wasnt trying to casue any harm, i just dont phrase things very well at times. ^_^"
