Hi, I just downloaded the free trial version of FPS creator, it's installed and all(i think), but when I double-click to open it, it says:
Latest DirectX not installed
DXversion error

^says that
I did the check thing to see what DX version I have, and it's 9.0. My computer is a Windows xp 98.
Please help, as I really want to use this program!

There are numerous versions of DirectX 9. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version from Microsoft's website.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

I remember Lee mentioning they'd drop Windows98 Support from Dark Basic Pro in 7.3 I think. Meaning that FPSC won't run anymore on later updates anyways... You definitly need an upgrade.

Anyways, you should definitly get the latest DirectX from over Here. It might help.

I think he means 98, but is trying to confuse us by saying XP as well! So it doesn't sound as crappy.

DirectX 9.0c
Keep in mind that you NEED Windows 2000, XP, or Vista. You can't use 98.

Windows 98 is legit the most stable OS as of now. In terms of anything else (like gaming) it blows.

Sparta.

EDIT: or the interwebz

Anyway.... your best bet is upgrading to a newer OS, not much support is offered for 98 anymore.
