hi

whould it be a bad ide to make the basic level out of only static entitys. so walls and floors and so on,

all is single entity's putted together, no use of segments...

That would be a very bad idea.
You see, you would have enemies getting stuck and occasionally the player as well.
From my experience anyways

Well the enemies, like almost all teh time, but not the player so much. I've done many levels where you run on entities, but the player will get stuck sometimes. But the enmies will.

I've created an entire cave system using Cosmic Prophets Cave Kit entities with just the floor as a segment (check here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=162282&b=24&msg=1919715#m1919715) so it's entirely possible. Don't know how enemies will react as I didn't put any in, but for exploration there should be no problem.
