Thought I'd give this model a try after someone in the DBPro forum asked about converting a Sketchup version. Seemed like alot less work to just make a new model than try to clean up the Sketchup one.
Screenshot in Ultimate Unwrap, getting ready for mapping and texturing.
When its all done, I'll post the model in .x format for anyone who might want it.

Very cool I'm a major Star Wars fan. Look forward to seeing progress on this.

Would be cool to see a B-Wing. That was one of my favorite ships. Great work

Cheers

haha, I just read your tie fighter post! Maybe we can start a Star Wars depository of models? Might be cool.

edit:
I'm doing the mapping right now, and, since I'm still fairly new to modeling, I'm hoping I'm doing it right. I modeled the x-wing in Animation Master (spline based modeling), and am doing the UV in Ultimate Unwrap. So, any tips you might have for me, especially for painting the UVMap, I'd appreciate it.

maybe we could all make a starwars game? I like the tie-fighters and the jedi ships best.

@Hador,
Maybe. Might be fun.

Well, I wanted to get this done by Christmas, but, I didn't make it. All that is left is painting. I have the uvMapping done, used 3 maps, 1024x1024 for lots of detail. Here is what I have so far in a .rar file, the .x model, the Ultimate Unwrap project file, and the uvMaps.
ou can use this anyway you want, and, maybe someone who is good at painting might take a look at it, because I suck at it, but, am going to take a shot at it anyway.

Merry Christmas all.
