I know I have a similar thread to this already but I couldn't find it so please forgive me for creating another. Im trying to get this code to run (to look for file types for a find function) but if i run it from dbpro no window pops up with the program running all that happens is that the end ad (im using the trial version) pops up its very frustraiting, im sure its the len() and mid$() commands that are doing it but the code is pointless without them.

The program ends because the program is ready... You should use do loop at the end. Because now it prints the results, then there are no more commands, so it ends. Use this:

At first I thought that having no commands at the end was the problem so i tagged a few input commands with some if's attached but that didn't work and neither did your code RTSpider, thanks for helping though. The problem seems to be mid$ and len$ no matter where I put it in a program before/after/during loops or in a function the program refuses to run, no window pops up just the advert it's really frustrating as I need these commands!!!

No, please don't. I'd only have to reject it

I suggest that you do a complete uninstall of DBPro first (using the setup.exe from the CD, not the control panel), delete your DBPro folder then reinstall and update with the latest DBPro and editor patches.

Theres a tiny problem with that - I don't have to dbpro CD that is unless someone would be so kind to send me a free copy . Im using the trial version

What are your system specifications (CPU, RAM, video card, driver versions, DirectX version, ideally your motherboard & motherboard driver versiosn too)?

Well im not to sure on my system specs, this is a family comp and it was built by a friend of the family a while ago so im not that sure whats in it.

I do know, however that i've got a Petium 3, 128 mb ram, DirectX 9 and im running windows 98, as for the rest sorry I don't know.
