Hello guys!

I'm using 3ds max, trying to get the point of uvw mapping.

i have seen some videos on youtube about using unwrap uvw modifier to make something like a texture map, then i can save it and edit it in photoshop or whatever, but after i do this, how can i use this map to texture the object?

lets say: i made a box
i added unwrap uvw modifier
used pelt, rendered that map and saved it
whats next? should i just add it in photoshop and draw the texture over it? ok, if i do it, how can i use it for my model?

thanks alot.

hi mate

it sounds like your new to max so i think your best bet is to take a look at the tutorials & help files that are on the max dvd.everything you want to know is in there & will be far easyer to follow than a few basic tips from us on the forum.

one tip i will give you though is dont use pelt mapping on boxs.

good luck

cheers henry
