I created a simple level with Cartography Shop 3.02 and exported it as a .x file. Then I used the DarkBASIC Pro .X to BSP converter. The problem is that when I load the BSP into my program, I get horrible Frame Rates, I only get 10-20 FPS.

However if I just load the .X file of the same thing, I get 50+ FPS. What is the deal? I thought BSP was supposed to be faster. Am I missing something? Please, any help about this would be appreciated.

Have other people had similar problems?

I gave up with BSP in DBPro a while ago, there appears to be many issues with it. I think the majority of the problems are collision related rather than display related.

Kensupen wrote an excellent .x object sliding polygonal collision routine which allows you to collide against .x objects and i've turned that into a suite of functions that lets you use them much like BSP commands.

You will find Kensupens code in the code snippets, and my code on my web page under Utils\Programmers Resource.
