Has anybody written a good freeware level editing program, similar to cartography shop???

that is not entirely free ware

the sofwtare is free but to use it you are required to pay a whoopiing £500 license fee.

you don't need half life to use Valve Hammer Editor 3.4
download zoners tools.

Wait until Upgrade 6 comes out and you will be able to create cartography shop 3.0 with all the goodies. :p

It's not useful to you as a post but I'm currently finishing up on a .MAP to CSM file convertor that will allow you to edit your maps in Hammer and then load them into Cartography Shop. It's comming along nicely but it will be a few days before I've ironed out the bugs. It'll be posted in the CS forum topic when it's done.

No one said that. I think what DMX meant was that Upgrade 6 will include the CSG commands which basically means you can create a program like Cart Shop really easily.

I have half-life and quake 3. I just don't like using BSP's and was hoping there was summat like cshop out there, but free. Thanx for your replies tho guys, guess i'll have to wait till upg6.
