Hey peeps,

Yep I know yet another Hud question, but I dont think this one has been asked yet ( tho Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong! )

I have figured out how to change the pop-up text huds etc, but what I cant find any info on is about permanent huds that make it look like your wearing a mask/helmet...say like this picture:

Now, what I would like to know is this:

1. What simple script would let me place this on the screen...and not remove it ofc.
2. Where should I put the hud picture?? In the User directory??

That’s it really.

I know it seems a noob question, but I am still learning FPS, and I honestly cannot figure out how to do this as nearly all the other Hud posts explain how to make text huds.

So can someone please tell me as its doing my nut in!

Thanxs

Well, I use teh a helmet hud as a life hud. You know how you place a life hud right? Well, you use choose your hud (the helmet) and make it's coordinates 50x 50y.

Oh, here's something if you like:

Made it recently.

Nice hud m8

So your saying use the Helmet as the life hud?? Im not quite following you there. I understand what your saying tho, but if I did that would I still be able to display lives?

Ofc, if you have a simple script then that would be even better, but if not I will give it a go.

Just go to

File > Build Game > Level Settings > Global Scripts > Health Image

There select your hud which should be saved in the FPS Creator gamecore folders somewhere and put the X and Y on 50 and 50.

That should do it

Thanks,

Ben

You see, in my mask hud, the life and the ammo pictures are already included. Only thing you need to do is to put in the numerics.

just for the record i tried using that and there is no co-ordinates. I think it a little bit too cartoony for my game anyways

Thanks

Um I just tested it and it was just fine. As for the cordinates x=50 y=50 works just fine.

Then you don't have to use it for your game. I didn't think it was to cartoony, it was actually pretty good.

Now there are two different ways of doing it and you have one and that is using life, ammo, or health hud or you can make a triggerzone with your hud that will "always" appear and let you use all three of the huds of you want to have them. If you want to have your hud appear as a script then you just put "always" as your first condition and it will always appear and stay. You can also add breathing and other variables to this script depending on how realistic you want your game to be. I learned this a couple of years ago when rolfy and ply helped me with this same thing. I hope this helps. If you have more questions just let me know. Also if you want to use md's hud I made it dds format for you and whoever else would like it and a screenin of it as well.

I meant no coordinates for the health and ammo numeric and I'm not using it for my game....

thanks,

Ben
